OK, not quite as bad as I thought - Mexico was pretty much doing everything already.

Now tariffs are apparently just a threat to get help with the drug war and not a way to raise revenue. Looks like someone finally got a Trump to accept that his campaign promise wouldn't work. This pivot is just saving face.

Unfortunately, Mexico caving to him creates a bad precedent.

Abusers are uniting.

So, are the tariffs in place? Or is incompetence still the underlying theme?

Were they sloppy in execution or did they just not understand that this would be unpopular? I'm guessing both apply.

The only hope for these people is that congressional representatives worry more about their votes than about appeasing MAGA to avoid being primaried.
