Interesting issue regarding perpetuals: if you ever stop issuing them (like the city of Haarlem) you still have to service them into perpetuity. Inflation degrades the value until it can't justify the costs of maintaining a centuries-old system

Een kabinet kan alléén gevormd worden met democratische partijen die de rechtsstaat respecteren. De VVD doet dat niet. Ik heb tegen de verkenner gezegd dat daar eerst maar eens de schijnwerpers op moeten worden gezet.
Laten we ophouden met doen alsof het normaal is dat de VVD allerlei eisen stelt.

Marx' mother was Dutch, her sister lived in this house in Zaltbommel and looked after his inheritance so he frequently had to come over to ask for money.
