The exception is if you want that group to use Identity Governance features like Access Reviews then Role Assignable and no RMAU makes sense. (You can still Admin Unit it in this scenario also if you wanted)

Over-provisioning of role assignable groups can be an IAM nightmare. Especially if combining with Restricted Management Admin Units.

I suggest only using Role Assignable groups if you need to actually assign roles. If you need to lock the members or group itself use a RMAU.
