Thanks Ishan and Vishva for commenting on our work regarding NINJ1's role of weakening the plasma membrane for rupture under mechanical stress. We feel blessed and grateful for the support of fellow scientists in the community.

Love Loren's home brew! His passion is unparalleled. He coauthored a paper in the prestigious journal Cell on domestication and divergence of yeast, a very interesting read! www.cell.com/fulltext/S00...

Thanks Ardem. Regarding smiles, Zhaozhu is already there, Bailong and I are working hard on it πŸ˜„

Excited to reunite with former benchmates at International Ion Channel Conference. Apologize for the severely jet lagged faces, but at least we remembered the golden rule of @ardemp.bskyverified.social lab regarding conferences: β€œNo badges outside the venues”. We think Ardem will be proud.

Apologize for the image glitches. I reattached the two images here.

Excited to share our latest story in Nature. We developed a high-throughput cellular stretch system to look for genes regulating membrane rupture under tension, and found an amazing small protein called NINJ1 that weakens the membrane for rupture! As a researcher working on mechanotransduction, celebration of May the 4th is obligatory.

Amazing read! Fluid is super efficient at coupling mechanical force so I bet they just need very few sensor molecules to work.

Woke up to the whirling sound of helicopters, went to the balcony to see what’s going on and was treated with amazing skyline view, the calm pearl river and ongoing Guangzhou marathon. A crisp morning like this is hard to come by.

I had the privilege to witness this groundbreaking discovery six months after I joined the Patapoutian lab. I remember asking Bertrand "What is it?" and he replied "FAM38A". I knew it was a big deal at the time, but little did I know that this would become one of biggest discoveries in biology.
