2/ For years Fidesz spent billions buying targeted political ads on Facebook and YouTube. They knew exactly who to reach and how to push their buttons. It was their secret weapon. Then the EU passed transparency rules for political advertising. Their strategy broke overnight.

3/ The EU did not ban political ads. They just said: tell us who paid for them and stop using people's personal data like their fears and political beliefs to target them. Basic transparency. Meta and Google said no thanks and pulled political advertising from Europe entirely.
