Did it ever occur to you that part of why war is awful is that innocents get killed in the crossfire? Or that Hamas savagely and pointlessly started a war on 10/7, and then coldly used Gazans as cover, to maximize civilian casualties, so that people like you will demonize Israel for fighting Hamas?

So funny, right? What a wit you are! For the Israelis, 10/7 was like 9/11 and Pearl Harbor combined. I'm sure it's a day you celebrated.

I'm sure they'll also block their music from being played in Sudan and Yemen (where actual genocides occurred), plus Russia, and the repressive dictatorships that surround Israel.... Oh wait,instead, they'll demonize the only democracy in the Middle East for fighting a war it didn't want or start.

Wars are awful, including because kids get caught in the crossfire-or here, are coldly used as cover by Hamas terrorists who savagely started this shooting war on 10/7, so you'll demonize the Israelis for fighting Hamas. The best way to prevent kids from getting killed in a war is not to start one.

Well, the Iranians did fire hundreds of ballistic missiles at Israel last year, and promised to wipe it off the map. Which you also hope for, to get rid of the only western democracy in the entire Middle East, because -gasp - they fight Hamas filth who started a war and use Gazans for cover.

Sorry, but it's nuts to assert that a vicious terrorist group that rules with a repressive iron hand, and throws critics off rooftops, is morally superior to the only western democracy in the entire Middle East, that affords equal rights to women, gays, and the 20% who are Arab-Israelis.

The "Palestinians " have been trying to slaughter Israelis since the day Israel was *legitimately* founded in 1948 on its ancestral location. The "Palestinians" have rejected every opportunity for peace, including at Oslo when Arafat was offered 95% of what he sought. You want peace, stop attacking.

Hamas savagely started this shooting war on 10/7. They hide in their tunnels using Gazans for cover. They should surrender and release all the hostages, to end the fighting and spare the Gazans further wartime suffering. Why don't you call for that? Or condemn turning Gaza into a huge terror base?

You jerk, nobody's celebrating death but you. Next time don't start a war and then use your own civilians as cover, so you can accuse those you attacked of "killing babies", for a propaganda advantage.

And just for the record, if I was King of the World, I'd establish a Palestinian state in the unincorporated land that used to be Libya, or Syria, so they'd have room for a viable contiguous state and a coastal port, so they could finally prosper in peace. Gaza & the WB are separated and too tiny.

I don't actually control the Israeli govt, though I'm one of "you people". And if you really compare the Holocaust to the plight of Palestinians in Gaza - caught in a war started when their government savagely attacked Israel - you're nuts. (And the Ps had a state in '48 & Oslo and rejected it.)

Israel withdrew completely from Gaza in 2005. Hamas took power in 2006, after a civil war with Fatah. Hamas then ruled Gaza as a dictatorship. Gaza could have been a jewel on the Mediterranean, had they pursued peace. Instead Hamas turned Gaza into a launch pad for attacking Israel. And then 10/7.

And for all your professed outrage at "genocide", I'm sure you didn't utter even a peep of protest when Assad was slaughtering 500,000 Syrians, including with poison gas and barrel bombs. No, you only object if Israel is fighting terrorists hiding behind civilians- which you have no problem with.

And yet it's only "truth" if it slanders and demonizes the Israelis, and it's only "lies" if it defends their right to protect themselves against unrelenting attacks.

Zionism is about supporting a Jewish homeland in Israel. That's all. Otherwise, it's fair to question one's assumptions. While we have different views on this subject, I think we can agree that war is awful and we should all empathize with those suffering. I appreciate your thoughtful responses.
