My daughter told me that there’s a thing called “Millennial Grey”, and that’s it’s awful. This seems to be it.

I’m Gen X and she’s Gen Z so we have different bad taste book-ending this stuff.

This is so true. However even though things change as children grow and become adult, it’s really just a different phase to a fundamentally wonderful relationship.

We need political and industrial leaders up to the job.

Somewhat harder we need to secure minerals from friendly sources, and this means also not relying on the US.

We need an AI strategy, creating our own models ultimately to run on our silicon. AI models are advancing so fast we don’t need to be at the leading edge, because we’ll never lag… 🧵

We need a comprehensive and long term strategy. A strong energy policy that decouples us from fossil fuels (already happening), an industrial policy where we start to fabricate and sell strategically important goods. I mean computer chips. 🧵1

This is such and interesting thing with China.

But there’s a way out. China developed & aced its tech industries from scratch. Israel, a vastly smaller country did the same.

Nothing stops us from doing so too in the UK. It’s possible. We need the will, and the way will follow.
