Stone Soup is a parable about the value of sharing and working together. Working together, the travelers and townspeople cook a delicious soup that can feed the entire village, demonstrating that a lot can be accomplished when people work together.

Then the townspeople offer other ingredients such as green beans, an egg noodle, pepper, parsley, and turnips. Everyone is offering at least one ingredient for the pot of stone soup.

Stone Soup began as a folk story of 2 travelers arriving in a village looking for food and coming up with a unique solution when none of the villagers would feed them. They said that they are going to make soup out of water and a stone.
