^ For research articles, you can support authors with workshopping their abstracts toward this goal or even create plain-language article overviews to include with formal abstracts.
You can also create summaries for supplementary content, organizational webpages, and marketing materials.
3️⃣ Provide clear content summaries
One of the best ways to help AIs synthesize your content is by including straightforward summaries.
2️⃣ Make content easy for AIs (and people!) to read
Optimize the structure of your content by presenting info in focused sections people and AI agents can easily parse. Headings (H2/H3), short paragraphs, and bulleted lists are all your friends! Overall, focus on content clarity and get to the point!
It can also be helpful to add secondary navigation links, often referred to as "website breadcrumbs," to category and subcategory pages, enabling users to quickly determine their location within the site's hierarchy.

1️⃣ Focus on website structure
Develop a clear overarching website structure and logically place content within it. A well-organized, "flat" structure ensures users can reach any page within three clicks, typically using a top-down approach (Homepage → Categories → Subcategories/Pages).

At the highest level, including PIDs in references will help ensure reference links resolve for readers. When journals include references in the metadata they register with DOIs, it also opens the door for scholars and discovery services to find their articles via metadata connections.

💬 Include PIDs in references
Finally, journals can help foster new connections between their articles and other research publications by including PIDs in references whenever possible, especially DOIs.
For example, Scholastica's peer review system integrates with @researchorgs.bsky.social to automatically associate ROR IDs with the organizations' input into journals' submission forms when applicable, ensuring accurate inputs. That's just one example of the many PIDs we support.

💯 Verify PIDs when possible
It's also critical to ensure the PID inputs you collect are accurate. Automating PID verification in forms, such as your peer review submission form, is the fastest and easiest way to do this.
