Contemplating trying some Pokémon ROM hacks, but a disproportionate number of them are "Gen 1 but make it unfairly difficult"
I have zero nostalgia for Gen 1 and don't enjoy difficulty curves that are like a cliff face.
Any suggestions for a good place to start?

The name of the grumpy grass bird makes me feel it should be from Yorkshire.

Next Pokémon game revealed along with new starters. I absolutely adore the Fire puppy, but the grumpy grass bird is called "Browt" which is the most broad Yorkshire thing I have ever seen. I want to give it a flat cap and stick of black pudding.

It's an Arabian sand boa with wings.
