We have candidates this year to elect to local offices, like Stephen Cady for Walworth Town Council, Aubrae Lamparella for Farmington Town Board, Ahmad Jamaal Whitfield for Geneva City Council, and many more, all of whom are focused on delivering for the community.

But it is highlighting the very reason that we need to elect candidates who, like me, are focused on actually addressing the affordability crisis, building a trusting relationship between the People and our government, and working to ensure everyone’s success.

I have heard the complaints of distrust in the political system and politicians for so long. This article isn’t revealing new information.

It is the future of my children that initiated this quest and the hope that they will be able to have a more successful life than mine. But that success depends on my generation doing the work to enable and empower the success of the next generation and the generations that follow.

5/5 In the meantime NY State will do what it can to help folks out, and we in the community do what we can as well even if it can’t adequately provide everything people need. area for a long time and it is not simply people out of work who require the assistance to keep their families fed.

4/5 While some will try to blame Democrats for the shut down and the imminent lapse in SNAP benefits, the reality is that the GOP, who have taken off work while the Democrats are in office everyday ready to work, could end this shut down by actually negotiating a real CR that served the people.

3/5 Yet the MAGA GOP has always wanted to cut SNAP and make it more difficult to use. The current shut down is a convenient excuse to make the food insecurity crisis larger.

1/5 Food insecurity has been an issue for this The best and most efficient way for that assistance to happen has been through programs like SNAP. The non profit groups that help, as admirable and well intentioned as they are, have never been able to provide for the full scope of what people need.

I know! How about we set up a jobs program that rebuilds our infrastructure systems with better resiliency?

How about we invest billions in teachers salaries?

How about we invest in healthcare workers?

How about we invest in farm workers?

All of these make a better future than ICE ever could

People are desperate to have a good income. I only hope they are not so desperate that they have to compromise their morals

I just saw an ad to apply with ICE for a job.

The cruelty of the MAGA GOP shows in how it is far too willing to invest billions in terrorizing Black and Brown people but not in supports for everyone’s success.

And at this moment when people need good paying work and this seems like the only job?

The cruelty of the MAGA GOP leaders becomes more clear as they refuse to consider ways to ensure peoples’ basic needs are met, like having food.

We should do all we can to ensure families are not going hungry, especially as we enter the colder months.

I want to thank Governor Kathy Hochul for the compassion showed to families and helping to keep them fed.

No one should have to beg their member of Congress for basic compassion.

The Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act ends the cruel 29-month wait for Medicare and disability coverage for people who are already fighting for their lives.

Recipients should continue to report case changes, submit any semi-annual reviews or renewals they receive during this period, and update their cases for the new federal work reporting requirements that start November 1 to not risk an interruption of their benefits in the future.

Genuinely who the fuck is the contractor doing this because it is absolutely someone's cousin who doesn't know fuck all beyond McMansion teardowns and holy shit how many different historic preservation laws (much less national security, tbh) are being crushed here

Quite right. Right now the people of Arizona have federal taxation without representation. I think we were once angry about things like that

Early voting starts on October 25th and we need you to get out and vote for your local officials so we can move forward as a community!

And then that energy carried even further for Citizens for South Bristol in Naples as we had hundreds gather in support of Lisa Moore for Town Supervisor, Chris Abraham, and Jamie Hall for Town Board as they seek to serve their community.

The events of Saturday were inspiring and that energy carried over into Sunday as I was knocking on doors for Aubrae Lamparella and Matthew Guilfoil for Farmington Town Board and David Siguenza and Darius Lind for Supreme Court. It was great to see so many who ate fired up for this year!

This festival has given me hope every year this century. Coupled with the events this past weekend where everyone practically exuded hope for a better future, today becomes very special.
