This "shame in receiving free money" for the poor but not the rich makes me SO MAD

To me, a Nazi salute means, "I want to murder your family." There can be no irony about it: It puts deep anger and hatred in my heart to see it done and I will never forgive anyone who justifies or minimizes it.

A cold civil war ... never thought I'd be writing that, but here we are.

But those wonderful things need good stewards to care for them, even if they can’t all be used, and it sounds like a wonderful environment to be among those things.

Agreed. I think that was Jack Conte’s motivation for Patreon because the recording industry has the same “content” model. I guess you could think of monetized online content as a oligopsony. youtu.be/RlQ3C_VanaU?...

I’ve always kinda liked the term content because while some do pour their creativity into it, it’s the honest description what the platforms want. I highly value the genuine creators who fill my life with goodness, but that’s not most of what’s out there and not what most correlates to income.

I despair of this field every time a tech person tells me that A.I. is "better than nothing" for low-income and/or underserved people. How about we try to get people the resources they need instead of the ones we can make money providing?
