I had a ticket to Vëryl festival this summer which was cancelled, or rather, the organizers just disappeared. Sent a refund request to ticket.io, who charged almost 20 percent of the ticket as a service fee. They said that I need to contact the organizer, which they know does not respond.

Fumito Ueda of the Shadow of the Colossus thinks that the age of game mechanics is over and that it better to focus on the visuals. I'm reminded of John Carmack's statement that there is nothing new to do in first person shooters.

My interpretation of the "67" slang phenomenon is that culture has become supersaturated with meaning, so that people delight in the opportunity to spontaneously crystallize a kind of negative space to a context. Emptiness is form.

People are missing the point about AI-filmmaking: It will *radically* democratize the medium, re-introduce focus on ideas/narrative rather than production, cause an enormous "long tail" diversification of content, enable crowd collaboration and other new forms of production. *It boggles the mind*.

If a large scale conflict is brewing between USA and China, maybe it is time for Europe to get out a defense alliance with conditions like Article 5? Europe has no part in this misconceived antagonism, escalated by Trump, and is increasingly misaligned with US's values.
