Yes, I've run into this. These folks start with the conclusion - "only 2 sexes" - and work backwards to find biological justification. It's hard! They end up with gamete size. But that is so far removed from relevant human-scale aspects of gender so as to be irrelevant, which they then ignore.

Bright blue stars are in a cluster at the center of the image. They are surrounded by a shell of brownish and burnt orange dust and gas. The shell has ridges that reach towards the stars like teeth. A number of more distant galaxies also appear in the background.
A grouping of large, glowing, and purplish stars dominate the imageβs center. Dark ridges of gas and dust are visible around them, with more background stars crowding the view.
Several bright-white, bluish, and orange stars shine with diffraction spikes, interspersed throughout dark dust. Particularly dark regions of gas and dust are seen near the lower left.
A dense cluster of bright stars. The core of the cluster is to the left and has a distinct group of blue stars. Surrounding the core are a multitude of stars in warmer colors. These stars are very numerous near the core and become more sparse, as well as more small and distant, out to the sides of the image. A few larger stars also stand in the foreground near the edges of the image.

This infrared image shows a portion of an area of the sky known as GOODS-South, which has been well studied by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and other observatories. More than 45,000 galaxies are visible here.
Using these and other data, the JADES team has discovered hundreds of galaxies that existed when the Universe was less than 600 million years old. The sheer number of these galaxies was far beyond predictions from observations made before Webbβs launch. The team also has identified galaxies that existed during a time known as the Epoch of Reionization, when the Universe underwent a transformation from opaque to transparent. Many of these galaxies shown unusually strong emission line signatures due to the creation of multitudes of hot, massive stars.
Every spec of light here is a distant galaxy, containing billions, if not trillions, of stars.
There are over 45,000 galaxies here.
