These mugs are on a red clay that exhibits glaze characteristics differently than lighter-colored clay I usually use.

After glaze firing, the black over blue is what I'd call serviceable, or more charitably, "subtle" decoration. The quest for Periwinkle Pizzazz continues. 😀

I broke the best bowl I ever made while washing dishes, but it's no problem. These will be blue with accents after they're fired.
