It's easy to use social media to spout off about archaeology.

It's harder to spend 12 mos. digging in archives to find documentary films made about actual archaeology, get them digitized, cut together, and shared on the Internet to show folks what real archaeology looks like

It's literally a vital feature of both science and of representative democracy.

I've written a fair bit about trust in expertise as a vital mechanism in the collective epistemology of science.

It never ceases to amaze me how select cases of full professors deciding to leave the U.S. for a university abroad merit more attention than the adjunctification of higher education and the complete erosion of tenure-track openings.
