Quit my job and blocked my transphobic boss. She never paid me enough anyway.

My coworker broke me today.

Shout out to everyone working in animal rescue. Shit is rough. If you know anyone that works or volunteers in animal shelters, tell them they are doing good work or better yet donate to their rescue.

I'm trying hard to stay optimistic. I'm enjoying what I'm doing at the moment. Hopefully my community will also enjoy the service I provide and I can get through this. Fingers crossed.

I've been day dreaming of opening my own salon once I build up enough of a client base and can save up to renovate whatever store front I could lease. That dream is feeling more and more like just a fantasy.

I live in a small community and I work at a vet clinic. I'll be grooming at the clinic. However if this trade war hits as hard as it looks like it's going to be harder for people to take care of themselves, much less their pets.

Very torn right now. On one hand I'm excited to be starting dog grooming soon. I've had fun making bows and accessories. It's been so refreshing and fun!
On the other hand the trade war has me so worried that I'll be out of a job and everything I've done will be for nothing.

Went to a reptile expo with my friend. Got to meet up with some other friends there. It was a lovely time

My grooming table came in early! It was supposed to be here Monday but it arrived today!

Small win of the day:
I'm going to start pet grooming at the vet clinic that I work at soon! I'm very excited. I've been working in and out of grooming salons as a bather for years. I've missed working in a salon.

I finished my online dog grooming class with all A's!!!

It's been feeling harder to find some small wins. On Friday we said goodbye to our clinic cat. I cannot have my own cat and he was as close as I can get to having my own. I miss him so dearly. He was a sweet, funny, and handsome boy. Today at the clinic didn't feel right without him.

I got some wool delivered today! I'm excited to start spinning it!!

Small wins of the weekend!
I was super busy yesterday driving two hours away to get brunch with a great friend that moved away last year. It was such a lovely brunch!
Today another friend and I went out to a reptile expo. So much to see and learn about! It was a blast!

Started following @craftyoddmama.bsky.social today. I'm in love with their yarn. I can't wait to find more spinners to look up to in my own spinning journey.

My partner came with me to visit a snake that's up for adoption through a rescue. He loved her. We are putting in an application to adopt her!

A cat that is in the shelter I help out with is really coming out of his shell. He's staying with a foster and has discovered that he likes being held upside-down!

I dyed my hair today. Makes me feel so cute when it's freshly done.
