It was the middle of the night, but Florian was always a light sleeper. Hearing his boyfriend shuffling in their bed made him wake up and he yawned.

He reached out, grabbing a lantern and turned it on. He blinked at Matthias, groggy but awake.

"Matty...? You okay...? Nightmare again...?"

The great loss of blood had him swaying uneasily. He babbled more, eyes drooping but trying to keep them open.

He concentrated on Matthias' voice the best he could. He breathed out shakily.

"Hearing... Matty... story... wanna hear... story... Matty..."

He mumbled, reaching out for him to hold.

Florian, hearing those words, couldn't help but blush. His heart skipping in his chest. He smiled gently, kissing him again and wrapped his arms securely around him.

"I love you... Matty..."

He pressed his forehead to his, enjoying the comfort and warmth. He felt safe with him, happy.

He couldn't help but admire how cute his boyfriend looked, splashing in puddles with him in his shirt.

He held his hands, entwining his fingers with his. He hoped his warm hands would warm up Matthias' cold hands.

Florian gave Matthias the biggest smile, jumping and prancing about like children. He danced with him and twirled him around.

He chuckled, kissing him and holding him close. He hummed a cheery tune, keeping him close by.

Florian can be found humming and singing to himself as he waters flowers, smiling in great delight.

The firefighter was so out of it, he believed the lie Matthias had told him. He swayed side to side on the hospital bed, his smile not reaching his eyes.

Florian was dazed, deeply mesmerized by his boyfriend's flushed face. He leaned down to capture his lips in a slow, intimate kiss.

He mumbled, shaking his head. He always dealt with the injuries himself, used to it by now.

The nurses had to cut off Florian's blood and soot soaked fireman uniform to see the extent of his injuries. His whole back was torn open and bloodied, along with severe burns running along it. It appeared a pillar of some sort must have fallen on him.

"He will need a blood transfusion." +

"Take your time! Deep breaths! I've got you."

Florian ran his fingers through Matthias' hair, cradling his head on his lap. He never wanted to make Matthias exert too much energy and should have known better. He shook his head with a hum.

"I'll wait. We can blow bubbles together!"

Seeing his love's exhaustion made worry wash over him. He gasped and quickly helped Matthias to lay his head on his lap. He gently wiped the sweat from his brow and gazed down at him, eyes wide with concern.

"Matty-?! Sorry, did I make you exert yourself? I'll use a ladder next time." +

Giving him a lopsided smile, genuine and full of nothing but absolute care and love for his boyfriend. He knew he was in a faraway place, reliving trauma perhaps. But he wished to pull him out of that and back into the present.

"The rain is nice... but even better when with the one I love."

"They must want to stay as dry as possible so they can take flight again and have their freedom. Now... you are secure and are protected from the rain. Just as birds have feathers, you have this raincoat."

The nurses set him up on an IV, he was dehydrated and lost a lot of blood.

Florian had indeed, done this a million times. Especially when he was rescuing people from fires inside buildings and didn't have a ladder. He learned quickly how to get up a building and into one, by any means necessary.

The rain was not something Florian often sat in, but if his boyfriend was out in it... so would he. He had on his froggy rain coat and hat and matching umbrella. He held in his arms a matching set for Matthias.

Sitting down beside him he handed him the froggy rain gear, grinning.

"For Matty!"

Florian least expected this from his boyfriend and lay limp as he was taken to the hospital. He did not begin regaining consciousness until they were inside the building.

"Am I... in heaven...?"

He asked drowzily, gazing up at Matthias with a dazed smile and sleepy eyes.

Florian's eyes sparkled with delight as the bubbles flew his way. He jumped up at them making a small popping sound as he popped them with a fingertip.

"Well guess I can just-"

He eyed up, down the wall before leaping against the first windowsill. He gripped between bricks climbing up skillfully.

Honestly, Florian didn't think he was all that injured or even that bad off. Despite that, he really was quite injured and needed immediete medical care.

His mouth was gaping as he tried keeping up with his boyfriend's fast pace.

"M-Matty!! I'm fine!! Look see? I'm okay!!"

Florian looked up at him and gave him a huge smile, waving wildly. His eyes scaled the walls, seeing how he would get up there to join him.

"Matty help me up!"

"And be there without my Matty-?! Ya crazy?!"

Florian pouted, crossing his arms and huffing, his curly blond hair blowing up from the breathy huff. He grumbled, looking away slightly.

"I'm fine Matty~!! I'm just fine!"

The fire investigator however was not indeed fine, there was a large wound.

He sighed deeply, knowing he must smell awful. But he had just returned and sought out his boyfriend first instead of seeking a shower. He buried his face against the crook of his neck.

"A large burning arch fell on me... could you check my back Matty? I can't feel nothin right now- pain wise."
