I watched the first couple of episodes as a friend of mine worked on it but it was close to something I was writing at the time so paused. Keep meaning to pick it up again.

I decided to watch The Bureau ahead of the US remake and ended up binging the entire run in a few weeks. Couldn’t take the American version seriously after that. Great show!

I watched it when it first aired and enjoyed it. I’ll add it to the rewatch list.

We started that tradition early with Connor.

Glad it’s doing what it was built for. And that’s a good one. Gleaming the Cube is a highlight of Slater’s more oddball choices.

I love certain parts of it so hard but I really want it to be a more straightforward swashbuckler Ala The Crimson Pirate. I know that’s the whole point and that I’m missing it on purpose but the line ‘ I want my father back, you son of a bitch!’ is so perfect I just wish it was in a better movie.

Yeah sharing a new movie with friends was a big deal. When we first found a movie like DEMONS we were ecstatic

The little cinema in my town didn’t care if you stayed in your seat for the next screening so I saw BTiLC a lot on its release. The first week we went every night after school. Never got old.

I miss the days of scarcity. Spending months tracking down a particular cut of a hard to find movie. When I moved to London I’d spend the weekend in Chinatown rifling though boxes of VCDs looking for a decent subtitled version of God of Gamblers III or some such nonsense.

I love Assault on Precinct 13, but I’m a sucker for a small group of scientists investigating weird shit so Prince of Darkness is still my fave. Got to work with John on the pilot script for a tv series based on it. Didn’t get picked up, but boy it was a lot of fun.

Yeah horror can be a trap that’s pretty hard to climb out of. He’s the Master of Horror for a reason, but there’s a lot more going on in those movies. I dislike a lot of modern horror because it’s all surface stuff.
