Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

If you've ever wanted to zoom in nigh-infinitely on the massive, complex works of Hieronymus Bosch, ultimate purveyor of medieval WTFery, I highly recommend

A close-up photo of the Black king from Hieronymus Bosch's Adoration of the Magi Triptych. He is very richly dressed in a white robe, wears a large pearl earring and various other items of golden jewelry. He is holding a decorative orb or pomander studded with pearls, upon which a golden bird is perched.

Photograph of the painted Triptych "The Adoration of the Magi" by Hieronymus/Jheronimus Bosch. It is a large, extremely detailed artwork that features a scene from the Christian bible in which Three Magi or Kings from distant lands have gathered to pay tribute to the newly born Christ child

I promise to find as many ways to say this as I can. Some better, some worse.
Please, don’t lose hope. Don’t give up. The world needs you.
We need us, because no one else is coming to save us.

And so are you. As long as you’re alive, there’s someone who needs what you have to offer. For every problem, someone exists who can help. The scope, complexity, and sheer number of these problems means there are no β€˜useless’ skills or strengths.

β€œEverything I can” only recently came to include β€œreturn to active status here.” I wish one of the factors wasn’t that I have significantly less to lose. I’m not the only one with fewer rights than I had a decade ago. I have less stability, and I’m in more danger. But I am alive.

Our cultural narrative is that one person must become powerful enough to fix everything. That’s impossible. All it does is generate feelings of helplessness.
But enough people doing everything they can, will. No two people have the same exact strength and weaknesses. Our diversity is our strength.

Horrific times create an ethical imperative to ask yourself β€œWhat can I do?”
The answer is of course, β€œeverything you can.” How that translates into specific actions is gonna be different for everyone.

(I'm having a look around and trying to find as many of you as I can!)

I just want everyone to have the experience of living in dignity with access to sufficient food, safe housing, needed medical care, high quality education, and time to engage with what sparks their curiosity and spirit

this should not be controversial 🫠

The voices of SNAP Recipients have become political pawns. They explained, in their own words, what Trump withholding funds has been like.

I think all Democratic eight senators who caved to the GOP should have to read this to truly understand who they've hurt.

I really thought it would be a good idea to start this odyssey on a device I am relatively unfamiliar with, huh?
Please stay tuned for more egregious mistakes we can all hopefully learn from πŸ˜‚
Also, hello. I've missed this.
