We need us, because no one else is coming to save us.

And so are you. As long as you’re alive, there’s someone who needs what you have to offer. For every problem, someone exists who can help. The scope, complexity, and sheer number of these problems means there are no ‘useless’ skills or strengths.

“Everything I can” only recently came to include “return to active status here.” I wish one of the factors wasn’t that I have significantly less to lose. I’m not the only one with fewer rights than I had a decade ago. I have less stability, and I’m in more danger. But I am alive.

Our cultural narrative is that one person must become powerful enough to fix everything. That’s impossible. All it does is generate feelings of helplessness.
But enough people doing everything they can, will. No two people have the same exact strength and weaknesses. Our diversity is our strength.

Horrific times create an ethical imperative to ask yourself “What can I do?”
The answer is of course, “everything you can.” How that translates into specific actions is gonna be different for everyone.
