Pictures flooded his mind: the moment he first saw her by the side of the stream in their neighbourhood, her coming to say goodbye to him when he left to study in Piltover, her smile when years later he brought her the news that she too got admitted to the Academy and her smile again when he gifted her that notebook. That inquisitive glint in her big brown eyes full of wonder got repeatedly etched into Viktor’s very being. How beautiful he found it. How beautiful he found her. Did she know this? Sky started to pick up his scattered books and notes. “I can carry this for you, where were you headed?” Viktor’s stomach clenched. “Oh no! I do have to go, I have a lecture to hold!” He took a step and almost fell over again, as a searing pain shot from his left ankle all the way through the leg. He had to lean on Sky to stand.
