We had a great time at Hazel today! This space has quickly become a popular neighborhood connection point. Beyond their viral cloud-foam cold brews, it’s clear our neighbors yearn for accessible spaces to gather. I’ll work to make it easier for small businesses to flourish.

I am grateful for Council Member Jen Eyer’s support and her recognition of my years of leadership in our community. I look forward to bringing that experience to City Council to continue delivering results for the residents of Ward 4.

I will continue to put these partnerships to work to ensure Ward 4 gets the infrastructure, resources, and results we deserve.

This is how I will lead on City Council. Leadership is about having the grit to knock on the highest doors until they open for our community. I have spent years building the trust necessary to advocate for Ann Arbor at every level of government.

Together, we did lifesaving work, expanding testing locations while directing critical resources to underserved families here in Washtenaw County and across Michigan.

I reached out to the Lt. Governor on Twitter to ask for guidance and a way to scale our impact. He answered. After a call with my team, he invited me to serve on the Michigan Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities.

In 2020, as a student and community leader in Ann Arbor, I was on the ground supporting our most vulnerable neighbors through the peak of the crisis. The need was overwhelming, and I knew we needed state-level support to meet the moment.

It was thrilling to join Lt. Governor @garlingilchrist.bsky.social as a guest for the State of the State Address! Our connection didn't start with a formal invite; it actually began with a cold DM during the height of the pandemic. 🧵

As Board President, I’ve made financial accountability a cornerstone of my leadership. On City Council, I’ll bring that same rigor to our city budget, ensuring every dollar works harder to serve the families and neighborhoods of Ward 4.

I was delighted to join the Ann Arbor Chinese Center of Michigan at Clague Middle School tonight to celebrate the Lunar New Year. It was a wonderful evening of community, delicious food, and cultural performances as we welcomed the Year of the Horse together.

When we show up for our community, we turn our values into action. We must continue to fight on behalf of those most vulnerable and protect our neighborhoods from ICE.

My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating the Year of the Horse at the Sweetwaters Lunar New Year tasting this evening. It was a joy to learn more about these rich cultural traditions while sampling some incredible globally-inspired beverages right here in downtown Ann Arbor.
