I was glad to join neighbors for a community iftar to reflect on our values of service and solidarity. Our strength lies in our diversity, and I’m committed to ensuring every voice in the Fourth Ward has representation at the table. Ramadan Mubarak to all who are celebrating!

Today’s weather reminded me that Dairy Queen is opening back up soon…

The City That Won’t Agree 142 cities. 8.1 million votes. One massive outlier. Ann Arbor’s council fights more than any other in America.

I am not making it up! #a2council is much more contentious than the rest of the country! district.myhamlet.com/articles/ann...

We had a great time at Hazel today! This space has quickly become a popular neighborhood connection point. Beyond their viral cloud-foam cold brews, it’s clear our neighbors yearn for accessible spaces to gather. I’ll work to make it easier for small businesses to flourish.

I am grateful for Council Member Jen Eyer’s support and her recognition of my years of leadership in our community. I look forward to bringing that experience to City Council to continue delivering results for the residents of Ward 4.

Quote from Governor Gretchen Whitmer's 2026 State of the State address: "Our laws have made it easy to expand suburbs but hard to build walkable downtowns and main streets or do more with your own property. It shouldn't be so hard to build the homes people need in the places where they want to live."

Gretchen Whitmer is on point: We need more homes and allowing more choices and more building will help get us there.

I will continue to put these partnerships to work to ensure Ward 4 gets the infrastructure, resources, and results we deserve.

This is how I will lead on City Council. Leadership is about having the grit to knock on the highest doors until they open for our community. I have spent years building the trust necessary to advocate for Ann Arbor at every level of government.

Together, we did lifesaving work, expanding testing locations while directing critical resources to underserved families here in Washtenaw County and across Michigan.

I reached out to the Lt. Governor on Twitter to ask for guidance and a way to scale our impact. He answered. After a call with my team, he invited me to serve on the Michigan Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities.

In 2020, as a student and community leader in Ann Arbor, I was on the ground supporting our most vulnerable neighbors through the peak of the crisis. The need was overwhelming, and I knew we needed state-level support to meet the moment.

It was thrilling to join Lt. Governor @garlingilchrist.bsky.social as a guest for the State of the State Address! Our connection didn't start with a formal invite; it actually began with a cold DM during the height of the pandemic. 🧡

As Board President, I’ve made financial accountability a cornerstone of my leadership. On City Council, I’ll bring that same rigor to our city budget, ensuring every dollar works harder to serve the families and neighborhoods of Ward 4.

Sure your local library is great but does it have a Kigurumi groundhog named Akako G Shins

I love serving as President of the @aadl.org Board and helping our libraries remain important community pillars. It’s even better when our mascot, Akako G. Shins, stops by to spread some joy!

@jasonmorganmi.bsky.social knows what it means to fight for Michigan’s working families, and I am incredibly grateful for his support as I work to do the same for the Fourth Ward. Join us at our campaign kickoff on March 10th to help us start this journey together!

#A2Council friends, please join me and special guest State Representative Jason Morgan for my campaign kickoff on Tuesday, March 10th at Mediterrano. I’d be honored to have your support as we build a more equitable and accessible future for all of our neighbors.

Thanks so much for the invitation! I’ll be preparing to chair the Ann Arbor District Library Board of Trustees meeting during that same time block. But, please feel welcome to continue sharing events β€” I’d be eager to listen and support.

I was delighted to join the Ann Arbor Chinese Center of Michigan at Clague Middle School tonight to celebrate the Lunar New Year. It was a wonderful evening of community, delicious food, and cultural performances as we welcomed the Year of the Horse together.

When we show up for our community, we turn our values into action. We must continue to fight on behalf of those most vulnerable and protect our neighborhoods from ICE.

Coming from a low-income background, I know the value of a dollar. Raising $30K from 320+ people in 30 days is humbling. Our momentum is built on a $93 average gift and zero PAC money. I’m grateful to join you in community every day and to have earned this support. #A2Council

My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating the Year of the Horse at the Sweetwaters Lunar New Year tasting this evening. It was a joy to learn more about these rich cultural traditions while sampling some incredible globally-inspired beverages right here in downtown Ann Arbor.
