I get where you're coming from, but I believe that sentiment needs to be spread beyond her. No matter who ends up being the Dem nominee in 28, folks need to understand that we're electing a president, not a miracle worker.

People are convinced that "I don't care about polling" means that 1) He's going to be dictator for life, or 2) This is somehow a genius 5D chess move. The answer is 3) he knows he's a lame duck and doesn't give a tenth of a shit about what happens to the party after he's gone.

I need to remind people. The midterms have never been so important.

Don't let people use scare tactics or make you think it won't happen.

I will add one thing. It’s also the reason why you needed to give two successive terms to a democratic president(s). Most things in politics take time. If you let a republican take over after only 4 years of a democratic president you throw any progress right out the window.

I’m going to regret this but let’s try again:

Jeffries and Schumer don’t control Congress Mike Johnson and John Thune do. As long as the latter abandon their constitutionally mandated responsibilities this is where we are.

Next election when you’re told that democracy is on the line pay attention.

When people spread the lie that Republicans are strong and Democrats are weak, they knowingly spread Republican propaganda.

When they claim Dems never stopped McConnell.

When they claim McConnell always blocked Dems.

When they lie about Obama’s “supermajority.”

When they claim Dems always lose.

One helpful thing is going to be watching how this plays out for Trump’s folks, who clearly think the laws and poll numbers will swing their way if they just post through it.

I think as a general rule it would be good for the Democratic Party to nominate younger candidates on average but we may have rung that bell a little too hard if people look at “is Old” and “is maybe Nazi” and see the first as worse.

The attacks on Jeffries and Schumer hurt the entire Democratic Party because those two people are who our Democratic representatives chose to lead them in Congress.

The unwillingness of the unaffiliated leftists to accept that fact is a big problem in our fight against fascism.

So many ostensibly straight news stories just flatly assumed that any friction in leaving Afghanistan had to be a result of incompetence by Biden, like there was a "no chaos" button he could have pushed to make the mass withdrawal of troops from an instantly failed state happen with no risk

Siding with the Constitution isn't siding with Iran.

i think it is also important to retain your capacity to be shocked by this kind of thing, because it *is* shocking. it *should* shock you, even if none of us have any explanation for being *surprised* by it at this point.
