I think it’s a skill issue more than a question of time tbh Donald.

The phrase β€œa face only a mother could love” is funny here because his mother hates him.

I love this. This is such a wonderful antidote to the negativity of world news.

Shame he'd not lived in the present day as he could have had an excellent career in a big four or tech company as an Al consultant. Well, I say β€œshame” but, y’know.

It's still interesting, but so far I'm not massively impressed.
This guy had a whole adjective named for him based on this stuff!

07.03.2026 12:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

…the goes on to show that he lost power when the protection of his father disappeared, mainly due to people he'd antagonised then gaining influence! It seems like a very odd argument to make.

Perhaps this will change as I get further in. The first time he goes into greater depth is about his contemporary Cesare Borgia, but even then it's ambiguous as he argues that Borgia is a great example of a leader who sets himself up to take power…

It's very interesting (based on where I am so far in The Prince) how slight some of his arguments are. He certainly name drops some leaders he sees as good examples of success in his early chapters but he doesn't enlarge upon why they were, relying primarily on assertion.

Quote from The Prince:
β€œHere we have to bear in mind that nothing is harder to organize, more likely to fail, or more dangerous to see through, than the introduction of a new system of government. The person bringing in the changes will make enemies of everyone who was doing well under the old system, while the people who stand to gain from the new arrangements will not offer wholehearted support, partly because they are afraid of their opponents, who still have the laws on their side, and partly…”

Continued: β€œbelieves in change until they've had solid experience of it.
So as soon as the opponents of the new system see a chance, they'll go on the offensive with the determination of an embattled faction, while its supporters will offer only half-hearted resistance, something that will put the new ruler's position at risk too.”

NiccolΓ² Machiavelli on HR transformation, probably.

So, obviously this isn’t true. But if the CEO actually believes this nonsense, it implies he thinks maybe he’s enslaving a sentient being that has the capacity to feel emotional distress. And he hasn’t immediately halted operations to suss out how to resolve that?

there are like 50 people in the country who want the UK to get involved in the Iran War, one of them is Kemi Badenoch, one of them is Nigel Farage, and the other 48 are newspaper columnists

β€˜The Bride!’ Rotten Tomatoes Reviews: Critics Split On Monster Movie Redux Maggie Gyllenhaal’s "The Bride!," starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale, is new in theaters this weekend. Find out of Rotten Tomatoes critics electrifed by the movie.

This article amused me because it says reviews are split but then lists all but two or three as positive:

From the trailers I felt it looked VERY stylised which I always treat as a possible warning sign. Suggests it could be more sizzle than sausage.

I’m so tired of seeing people bash Bluesky for being an echo chamber when X is an actual intentionally constructed echo chamber that is demonstrably radicalizing people across the political spectrum who still use it
