Most Mormons with polygamist ancestry can go through their family tree and do the math on birthdays. They were raping children and those children got pregnant.

Mormon apologists try to claim their prophets weren't raping children because they weren't having sex with the child brides. It's not hard to prove this wrong.

I do not see how a third option is possible, except that somehow they are ok with child rape? I don't believe that is the case for any of the Mormons I know. It's always one or both of the other options.

Mormons who do not consider Joseph Smith and Brigham Young to be child rapists and sex traffickers either 1) do not understand rape and consent, or 2) are ignorant of the child rape and sex trafficking in Mormonism.

Here's a light example: passing the sacrament with your right hand? Doctrine? Or no? If not doctrine, why so strictly enforced in so many wards and families?

Then they deny teachings that get too inconvenient for the corporate church and local leaders have arbitrary power and control over members (and especially over children).

The Mormon church, like any good cult, doesn't have doctrine. It has vague rules that it calls doctrine. It leaves enforcement up to the hierarchy (family, ward, stake).

Great thing to bring up with a Mormon if you never want them to talk to you again. Recommend bringing it up with particularly persistent missionaries.

Mormons get a "new name" when they go to the temple for the first time. It gets talked about like it's something special and unique.

It's not. It just depends on what day of the month it is. Everyone going through that day gets the same name as you.

The prophet worship in Mormonism is so creepy. And the pretending-it's-not-succession-based-power attitude from Mormons pretending they don't know Oaks will, of course, be the next prophet with Nelson gone... Culty. Self-delusion so they don't have to think about corporate nature of cult leadership.

Growing up as a Mormon kid I was taught that I chose my family in the preexistence.

This is an abusive teaching that completely ignores the fact that children absolutely do not consent to being born at all, let alone get to choose their family.

Anyone have recommendations for where I can find more accurate Utah history? The obviously one-sided takes in all the Mormon accounts are making me sick.

Utah history is so biased towards Mormon perspectives. Mormons never list "self defense" as a reason for conflict between Indians and Mormons, even though Mormons were killing men, women, and children and stealing their land.

Enough is enough. We need to break these cycles of the rich getting richer while the poor die younger and younger.

This is not freedom.

We do not exist to make billionaires richer.

It is completely unfair that how long you live depends on how rich you are in America.

People in other countries live longer because they have universal healthcare.

These teachings were used by Mormons as justification for murdering and enslaving native people. It's disgusting.

The skin of people who sin gets darker and darker. The skin of people who are righteous gets lighter and lighter.

I'm glad I'm not the first cycle breaker. My grandma and mom did a lot of work to protect me.

But I'm still angry.

Their stories still go unheard because the Mormon church is a billion dollar propaganda machine with a missionary force spreading their cult's version of history.
