This month's #TBRChallenge achieved. The theme is Vintage. I loved Matthew Norman's Grace and Henry's Holiday Movie Madness. 2 widowed protags grappling with their grief & growing friendship through nostalgic pop culture films. Top shelf!

I am super late to @superwendy.bsky.social TBR challenge for January themed "Still here". I will add "Still late".
I read Sangu Mandanna's A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping. I also get a bit ranty about the book's library metadata.

Thanks to some bluesky friends for the prompt to post my annual reading blog post.
My list of favourite books read in 2025. 53 books read, with 14 of them being 5 stars. I discuss some of them here:

I know that I am in a different phase of life as my most enjoyable lead-up-to-Christmas event has been watching four (!!!) Bromeliads emerge.
I hope you all have a calm and slowly revelatory Christmas π
My friend is auctioning her late husband and late son's substantial Dr Who collection. It would be lovely if you could share this with any fans you may know. #drwho

"It's the standout for affordability."
Houses in Melbourne are now more affordable than in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth & Adelaide - so how did Victoria do it?

AI is an absolute net negative for humanity. So of course govts are clamouring for more of it.
I don't want to be too judgmental, but every single proponent of the glories of AI is a complete wanker

A post in which I get a bit annoyed about the Greek stereotype in romance fiction but still enjoy the novel.

Ooops! I just saw this. And yes - that is the antipodean joy especially if you are travelling to avoid the cold. The flowers are still blooming, I scored two gladiolis this year but the heat has started to cause some wilting.

I have finally caught up to the TBR challenge. Though I cheated.π€· Two themes for one book. And there are a ridiculous amount of detailed spoilers.

Write to the editors, Ned! Ask for corrections & let them know where you stand on this issue. I was speaking to a library journal editor about this & was told that their journal policy was very strict on AI & checking sources. If the publishing journal has a policy on this, point that out too.
