My wife got the chance to come home for a while today. Last time she was here she said she wanted to do the tree when she was here next. We didn't get much notice, so I stayed up all night getting out the Xmas decorations and setting up the tree to be decorated when she got here. Got it done!

I think they're actually confusing the Oz books with the Wicked books. The latter are not books I would recommend to kids.

Hard agree. My attention span is way too short for fishing.

Fuck no, bud.

That would just be consolidating the Irving's kingdom. They would only have to buy one government instead of four.

I just built a PC fast enough to play games on. I started with AC: Valhalla, but I waffled between it and this game. Now I am getting closer to the end of Valhalla, and waffling between this game and Baldur's gate, but you are going a long way to convince me to choose this one.

Typically pretty good shit. My dongle is some kinda Chinese knockoff. It did okay with my old and my new Sennheisers. Also the cheap Jlab earbuds that I keep as backups/for shovelling.

Yeah, right in behind PetSmart. In the same plaza with Canadian Tire.

I know best buy has some TP-link ones for sub $20. I saw them when I was in there last. Tp-link is a well known brand that makes decent networking stuff, too. I will keep my eyes open as I run errands.

Princess Auto is literally the best for cheap electronics. We do have one. It has a great electronics clearance section too.

And also for the reminder that it's okay to be who you are, even if who you are is really weird and still sort of feral.

Shout out to this guy, who constantly reminds me that we are not just the sum of the bad things that have happened to us. We can still choose to love and trust others.

To be really honest, I bought a cheap BT dongle from a dollar store a while ago before I got my new motherboard, and the audio quality was fine. It's not as good as the BT on my MSI motherboard, but I don't think most people would notice, even w/ comparable headphones.

They think special needs kids should all be institutionalized and never discussed, the way they were treated when the prez was a kkkid. They do not think disabled people need education because they don't think they are truly human or valuable.

There is something special about the way the ones you bring in from outside sleep. Like every sleep is the best, safest sleep they ever had.

I think sometimes other people can see something we might not be able to when we are in the moment. We were both afraid to "ruin a friendship", and were actively trying not to let on about our feelings. Melissa the bar slut basically told us we both felt the same way so it took away the risk.

This is actually how my wife and I ended up kissing for the first time. The drunk older lady was a butch lesbian who had only introduced herself to us as "a bit of a bar slut" on past meetings. She took each of us aside and grilled us about it, then physically pushed us together and left. 19 years!

This is typically why trans men seem to be less controversial, not as great talking points for the term inclined. The argument that trans women are inherently dangerous to other women necessitates the dismissal of any danger a trans man could pose to other men.

They tend to be the "men are ALWAYS stronger than women" sort who don't believe a trans man could take advantage of men if they're allowed in their spaces, but also believe a trans woman will be capable of and willing to take advantage of any women's space they're allowed in.

Many see it as natural that someone identified by society as female at birth would want to leave the class of "woman" and become part of the more privileged class of "man", but struggle with why someone would go the other way to leave privilege for vulnerability.

Outside of turkey and stuffing, I can imagine each of these being quite tasty, if strange. On the turkey and stuffing: I am not a savory cookie fan, and I can't imagine doing turkey and stuffing in a sweet cookie going well.

Such a win for you! I had some longer term success with cheese balls by hiding a piece of kibble or something in the first little cheese ball, and the pill in a second (or third) just so mine wouldn't learn to pick the pill out. By the third one they were so chompy they didn't notice, lol.

I am wondering how many were grandmas being scammed on the phone and strong armed into going to some Bitcoin machine to pay back money they don't owe.

My next door neighbour came out in his bathrobe to make sure I was okay. I never really thought about if I'd be okay, I saw someone's sweet baby stuck in the freezing cold with no option other than knocking on the only door with the lights on, and I made sure he got home safely.

...a random, muddy, "loaded" (his words) twenty year old man showed up at my front door at 1 am and asked me to call him a cab, so I got him a chair and I called him a cab. He didn't realize how drunk he was, or how cold and slippery it is.

Should I have answered? Maybe not, but I did.

Clear, recent photos of your face and/or your fingerprints are the things they need to look through the phones of most people.

With your phone they can get access to all of your accounts the way a scammer does when they get a senior's email password.

Their data security is shit, too.

It is sad how we as a society have devalued language as a skill and an art.

How cruel and cold a world is that has outsourced emotion and expression to machines.

Our words are something worth putting thought into.
