Consumer of beer, smoker of cigars. Camping and cycling IT guy, from Cambridge, Ontario Handle is an old nickname, it means "looked like a wet spaghetti noodle when running down the basketball court"

Hopefully this doesn't jinx it as there are still a few more scheduled tests left to run, but a DST related bug that has plagued my company since

2010 may finally be fixed.
A screenshot of Resident Evil Requiem with the camera looking at shelves of film reels stored vertically. This puts pressure on the film itself through gravity and can encourage warping. The labeling is also awful with many hanging off the cans
Playing Resident Evil Requiem and got to the scariest moment of the game. Poor media storage! No! That's not how you store film cans!

A blue circular sticker featuring the face of Canada's laziest and maybe most corrupt premier - Doug Ford. The words in white around his face say, "This is why Ontario can't have nice things."
Doug Ford has two weeks left of his 15-week winter holiday before he and his cabal of Cons return to Queen's Park to continue destroying what's left of the province.
Maybe we should decorate the neighbourhood to welcome him back.

Same. I'm used to rolling fog and the normal stuff. This was wildly different. Looked more snowy than fog.

The fog blowing off the snowdrifts along the roads in the country is wild.
Big waves of roiling white stuff, honestly looks similar to high winds and snow.
Like driving through snow squalls, but with fog.
Fog squalls? Never seen anything like it.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands WBC team always has the best names.
Can't decide if the best is Chadwick Tromp or Wendell Floranus.
(Most of the team is from Curaçao and Aruba, not Holland)

I know. When you scroll the main feed, it's a real relaxing "this is nice" feel that few feel emboldened to mess with.

If you increase defence budgets, you need to increase aid budgets by at least four times as much
Because of the human suffering that always, inevitably results
Cutting aid to spend on defence sounds great to the bloke down the pub
But it never works
Aid is a pittance compared to defence budgets. Cut the entire aid budget to buy two tyres on a fighter jet
Canadaβs defence budget is ~$80bn or 16% of federal budget. Aid is $6bn or 1.2%
It's like the "escape from social media, social media platform"
So far.
It's interesting how a community vibe is forming on @gandersocial.bsky.social
Nearly no politics. Just people sharing photos of their pets, anecdotes about their days.
"Daily living" posts.
I'm hoping!

Also... overhearing another customer "Those $5 cigars you recommended to me are really good!"
Really? OK! I'll take two and will give them a go.

There's another solution. Shorter workdays. Especially on Fridays.
The problem isn't the clock.
@toddalio.bsky.social That would have been a classic "RIP my mentions" post on other social media platforms.

Now it's onto other battles born from resentment, especially from the stereotype of basement dwelling geeks that can't get a date.
It was never really coded left, it was coded as trying to free from stigma and control.
I'm going to drag on my fellow nerds...
Back then, nerds/geeks were set upon by everyone. A lot of that resulted in inventions to free us from control.
That battle, largely, was won. Nerds and geeks rule society now, but the feeling of resentment remains.
