A Halloween afterthought It had been a few months since she came to Al’Edos. In this new #turning of the wheel, wonder was once again possible. For so many centuries, her thoughts had been so bad — they fed the dark. Now her #instinct had returned. It was #Halloween and the Edroth had taken to the holiday with glee. Her newfound Aludim was so enthralled she couldn’t help but laugh! There were no #monsters here, no #ghosts or such. She had heard of creatures of Darkness, but she hoped they would stay there. Zhe’ra sat there on the flight-#deck of the parliament, the ocean was visible for miles and miles. And the Edroth and other people here were a hoot! Yes, she had finally found her home. Halloween? Zhe’ra rounded the edge and stepped into a beautiful square. She might end up having an #unholy #fetish about this city. Whoever came up with this city, this #invention, was genius! She heard the bussing in her head again. And behind her she heard powerful beats pushing air towards her. A #monster!No, this must be an Edroth! Her first #instinct was to «hit the #deck» but she remained strong! She wasn’t afraid of monster or #ghost — though, maybe, a little #edgy. For a brief moment she wondered wether any #haloween myths were true. Though, as she turned. She saw the most magnificent creature she’d ever seen. Breathtakingly so. The being radiated love and safety. Something is changing Coming back from that #memory, Zhe’ra continued, as under a #spell, ever so slowly, around the big circular building. Somewhere around her she could hear a #herd of something. Possibly not a herd at all —a flock, maybe — having a #nocturnal #feast. She caught only fragments of sound, but it was brutal. Maybe these Edroth ate like that? Glimpsing the city Finding herself in near #endless #blackness, from close by Zhe’ra heard water, no, the ocean. Squinting she could see a vast structure seeming to #arch up from the ground, with a strange glow within it. The flowers around her was #pretty even in the darkness. The beauty around her broke her, made her feel old and #battered – like a #vulture craving scraps. She cried. Gathering herself, she connected to the source once more, she #manifested changes to improve and repair her #costume. Making herself appear in charge and powerful.
