To me it feels less like a collection of desperate practices I put together, & more like practices which were amalgamated together over generations of my ancestors, before I ever arrived on the scene to shape them into the practice I have today.

Kind of. It certainly does seem that way from the outside, yes. From the inside though, it's more connected & cohesive than that. My neurodivergent brain just has a knack for connecting puzzle pieces together, in ways that don't always seem to relate or fit to others. 🙂

Am I a hearth witch, or garden witch, or crafty witch, or forest witch, or cozy witch, or astro witch, or folk witch? Yes. Is witchcraft my whole personality? Nope. The priorities of my many interests wax & wane in phases like the seasons, moon, & tides ... & that only has to work for me.

One of my favorite features of the candle is how it illuminates the effigy on the outside with flame as it burns down, & a caveat on the oil if you plan to put it on your skin & are sensitive at all, the wormwood in it can absorb through your skin & induce an altered state. Plan accordingly.

I kinda expected they would. The point was supposed to be, if it got squashed, it could just be recreated & pop up again elsewhere, but now it feels like they're just doing it to themselves. And yeah, I used to stick to the Only Posts feed, but now I think I probably need to create my own feed too.

I think it might be two fold. I think the style of this platform (while great for preventing hostile takeover (being open platform) isn't great for expressing or connecting in depth, but also, I think the "flood the zone" exhaustion tactics are working & folks are just running out of spoons.

But, both my husband & I feel like, at every turn, on every online platform, & even in real life, that for the powers that be, this exhaustion & squashing of connection, community, & any kind of working together, is exactly the objective. And we hate that & can't bring ourselves to stop trying.

Agreed! I really enjoy seeing the things folks post too! But yes, it feels void-ish & lonely of late. And, I'm sure the current state of things is wearing on people, & I definitely don't blame anyone for pulling back & using their energy wisely ...

Same. Which is why there's such a ratio difference between followers vs following. But even of those I do follow, so many seem to have just abandoned their accounts. And, based on what I'm seeing, I understand why, but it's too bad, bc a lot of them seemed to be great people, & I miss seeing them.

And half of the folks I'm still following haven't posted in 3-6 months. Also, not only have I not seen any significant platform upgrades since I've been here, but I've found trying to post videos directly (rather than links) to be significantly more of a pain in the ass now than it was a year ago.

It's a political echo chamber. I rarely see nuance or any point of view or news that hasn't been widely posted or reposted, & it's exhausting to wade through the hall of mirrored horrors every morning, & I fear, based on account stats, the platform is stagnant at best, & dying at worst.

When I came to Bsky a little over a year ago, I was excited to see how engaged everyone was. But today, over 50 of the 250-ish I was following haven't posted in a year, & similar ratio for the 900 who follow me, & at least 1/2 of the rest exclusively repost others content. I do like Bsky, but ...

Either tell the story through voice acting, videos, & or dialog while I'm playing the game, or just write a damn book &:I'll read it. Bc I'm not trying to get my neurodivergent brain to try to do both at the same time.

I'm old, & this is going to be an unpopular opinion. I love reading books, & I love playing video games, but I do not like the trend toward text heavy video games. It's not "immersive." The text pulls me out of the game & the game pulls me out of the text.

Although, it might have been longer. Ever since my parents got sick, my ability to gauge the passing of time has gotten wonky. Most days I feel like I went to sleep in 2018 & woke up in 2026. I remember everything that happened, it's just tough pinpointing exactly when.

We both distinctly remember hearing of & talking about it, a year, or maybe two ago, bc he played iconic roles in several movies that have become classics in our house & been heavily re-watched. So we were both sad to hear of his passing, & really surprised to hear of it again today.

Oh! ❤️ That's a great name though! I'm glad you feel connected to the one you have though too! My poor daughter, of the 20 or so names we debated over while I was pregnant, got the last one that was stuck in my head when I went to the hospital, & I had kinda just made it up. 😂🤷‍♀️

I drove a school bus for 15 years, & I once had to call a very nice grandmother (bc I could never reach mom) & tell her the very lewd proposition her 12 year old grandson screamed out the window to a random man on the street corner. She insisted that "He's usually such a nice boy." He was after! 😁
