The Museum of Printing has been helping a non-profit organization called Outsider Collective (www.theoutsidercollective.org) set up a letterpress lab in Pawtucket, Rhode Island for artists with disabilities.

Sunday was the 56th anniversary of the moon landing (July 20, 1969). At the Museum of Printing, we have the printing plate of the front page of the New York Times that proclaims: β€œMen Walk on Moon”. So cool!! Just one of the fabulous things you'll see when you visit!

The Freedom Project Kolekcja, a collection of art by artists from twenty-two countries will be at the Museum of Printing from August 1st to November 1st addressing human rights, war, violence, and social and racial injustice.

A reception will be held at the Museum on Saturday, August 2 at 3 pm.

There is a new exhibition at the Museum of Printing until August 30: a portfolio of nineteen fine art prints made by various artists at the Shepherd & Maudsleigh Studio sized to resemble 18th century broadsides to commemorate the the β€œshot heard round the world.”

The Museum of Printing now has a Little Free Library across from the entrance. It was ordered, built, reinforced, painted, and installed through the work of several volunteers. There’s even a Free Tiny Library inside it!

Thanks to the team for the fast work! It's cute!!

On this Memorial Day, we remember George Mergenthaler, killed in action on December 18, 1944 in Luxembourg while serving in the U.S. Army, a member of a 28th Infantry Division’s Mechanized Reconnaissance Unit. he was grandson of Ottmar Mergenthaler, inventor of the Linotype.
