A person driving a jeep hit and killed a toddler in a stroller in a marked crossing and they are calling it a “pedestrian collision”

Why is an 80 year old woman driving an enormous SUV?
Why does the SUV allow her to go 70 mph in a residential area?
Why are humans unprotected from such obvious threats at a bus stop?
Why does the law do nothing?

This is not freedom but Hobbesian state of nature but with enormous speeding weapons.

Every aspect of this story is an indictment of the social, economic, and legal structures of our country.

An 80 year old woman drives an SUV into a family of 4 waiting at a bus stop, avoids criminal justice, and hides assets to avoid civil penalties.

Hey #BikeDC, as of 9pm there's a water main break or something on the MBT behind City State, basically converting the trail to a stream. Not passable. I called @dcwater.bsky.social to report it, but I had to tell them the trail is DDOT, not DPR. Who else do I loop in to get this elevated?
