Fellow hellhole escapee, yarn addict and a cat guardian. She/her. Feed is mostly a bookmarking tool for myself but if you find it useful, cool. I try to keep it factual. Apologize for the verbal eye-rolling, I swear it's a reflex.

The lists of banned books range from Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes, Silverstein’s A Light in the Attic, which includes some line drawings that depict bare bottoms, to books featuring LGBTQ+ youth like Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan to historical accounts like They Called Us Enemy by George Takei and Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race, by Margot Lee Shetterly. Also included are reference books like The Complete Book of Cats and The Complete Book of Dogs, both by Rosie Pilbeam.

I guess there could be other reasons to go through the trouble instead of creating a single copy. Maybe it's nothing. But it doesn't look good when the released file was claimed to be an unedited original. As a screen recording it would seem suspicious even without the metadata oopsie.

Yeah. As one of many examples of how sloppy this was, at a certain point of "raw" video the media app UI pops up and it's revealed to be a screen recording. One could suspect that to be done exactly for the purpose of concealing edits, but then they went and edited the new clean file too.

Two Blueprints Why Heather Marsh's Networked Hope is Better Than Curtis Yarvin's Silicon Crown

This is the real choice facing us now. This is the article that should be written anytime the NYT, New Yorker or any other publication wants to write about Curtis Yarvin. Why is this not in a major publication?

Elon saying he’s going to reprogram his chatbot’s view of history is a perfect example of why these kinds of AI products aren’t the neutral “tools” people always defend them as. They’re little political projects reflecting the ideologies of their creators

The Department of Energy denies the story: "This reporting is false," a spokesperson told NPR in an emailed statement.

There’s a story here for whoever wants to write it about “alternative facts” providers. Not sure how new it is exactly—social media has always been AWESOME for amplifying confirmation biases—but Data Republican, Truflation, and the DOGE Clock are as important to understanding epistemic warfare 1/

After almost a week, negative responses to my 7k+ word investigation into DOGE's access at NLRB relies on a statement on there being no "official record" of DOGE's visit.

Berulis never alleged DOGE funneled sensitive data to Russia. His disclosure relies on forensic evidence.

A whistleblower's disclosure details how DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data A whistleblower tells Congress and NPR that DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data and hid its tracks. "None of that ... information should ever leave the agency," said a former NLRB official.

HOLY SHIT. You need to read this in its entirety. Way too much to even begin to summarize but it's really, REALLY bad. It's just one agency, NLRB, but it's likely happening at others. We are under attack, seemingly from the inside. What's happening here should put folks in prison

NEW from me: A whistleblower says DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data...and then someone posted a threatening letter to his door.

US office that counters foreign disinformation is being eliminated, say officials Conservative critics have long accused the department of helping to censor the American right.

SCOOP: sources tell me that the State Dept plans to eliminate its only office to counter foreign disinformation, as soon as today, delivering a win to foreign governments like Russia, Iran, and China—and the office's mostly conservative critics.

Hi. So it wouldn't look like a trollific IRA profile; Learning and handling information is one of my favorite interests and due to ADHD there are some subjects I hyperfocus on. Past years I've been diving into Russian influence campaigns, MDM and other hybrid warfare operations around the globe.
