Kim Weiss is breaking barriers with the Colorado Eagles: ‘She’s the glue’ There are young girls all over the continent who know what Kim Weiss has accomplished and look up to her.

Kim Weiss didn’t set out to break down barriers for women in hockey. But she is now the second woman to be an assistant coach in the AHL, and a rising star in the industry.

“She’s the glue” of the Colorado Eagles coaching staff.

Nine days to the trade deadline ... where do the #Avs stand with Logan O'Connor?

Do they expect him back ... in the regular season? During the playoffs? At all?

"Not sure yet. I expect him to be ready. I just don't have a timetable on that." -- Jared Bednar

Avalanche’s Brock Nelson skips Team USA White House visit after winning gold medal All four members of the Colorado Avalanche who played in the gold medal game of the 2026 Winter Olympics were back in Denver on Tuesday morning, according to a team source.

#Avs center Brock Nelson skipped going to DC and the White House with his gold-medal winning teammates, instead opting to fly home to Denver with his family and to join his NHL teammates in Utah for the first game after the break.

How would the Avalanche have fared at the Winter Olympics? Six of the Colorado Avalanche players returned home from the 2026 Winter Olympics with a medal, but what if it were 25?

A quick break on your timeline for a maybe fun, probably silly story:

How would the #Avs, the NHL’s top team, have fared against the top national teams, if we gave them back their 8 Olympians and replaced France with them at the Winter Olympics?

Avalanche star Martin Necas wants to lead the next golden era for Czechia hockey Martin Necas knows quite well what its like in his hockey-mad country when the highest levels of success are achieved.

Maybe it begins tomorrow. Maybe not.

But ask any of your Canadian hockey fan friends who follow the WJC about it, and they know … the Czechs are coming.

There’s a wave of NHL talent about to crest, and #Avs star Martin Necas can’t wait to lead them.

Why Avalanche ‘sacrificial lamb’ Artturi Lehkonen is your favorite player’s favorite player Of all the accomplishments by Colorado Avalanche players so far this season, finding the perfect nickname for Artturi Lehkonen is near the top of the list.

Artturi Lehkonen is probably your favorite #Avs player’s favorite player. Why?

“Because he does all the shit nobody wants to do.”

The Avs’ ‘sacrificial lamb’ will bring his smarts, courage and craft to Milan as Finland tries to surprise everyone again.

Avalanche shake off blown lead, reach Olympic break with 4-2 win against Sharks This Colorado Avalanche team with a multi-goal lead remains the safest bet in sports, but this one didn’t come easy.

The #Avs looked good for two periods, then bent for five minutes but didn’t break against the Sharks.

They are 32-0 when they lead by two goals at any point in a game this season and clawed back some good vibes heading into the Olympic break.

Avalanche search for answers as power-play woes continues It’s pretty safe to assume the Colorado Avalanche aren’t going to “fix” the power play with only one game left for the 2026 Winter Olympics break.

The #Avs have just one game before the Olympic break, but one critical objective during the stretch run once they return - fix the power play.

One of the league’s best for years, they’d take mediocre right now.

One of the stats of the 2025-26 #Avs season to date, but one of the few that isn't really a flex and probably makes one of the big themes even more frustrating ...

Colorado is 16-0-4 when its scores at least one power-play goal.

For slumping Avalanche, nearly everything has slipped since historic start This Colorado Avalanche season was nearly fissure-free during the first half. After this road trip through Eastern Canada, however, it might be all hands on deck.

What’s gone wrong for the #Avs the past 12 games? It’s not a stretch to say … everything.

Avs are worse in every phase. Best players are getting outscored. Goalies have struggled. Underlying #s have dipped.

It is not panic time. It is get right time.

Avalanche offense goes missing in ‘flat’ 5-2 loss to Senators The Colorado Avalanche authored a comprehensive performance three days ago in Toronto, but that version of the league-leading club did not travel to the other side of Ontario.

"Flat" ... "not good enough" ... "we’re not moving" ... "lackadaisical at times"

The #Avs were great in Toronto. They were definitely not three days later in Ottawa.
