Amazing to think that the roadblock to advanced evolutions of compassion and morality comes directly from frameworks put in place by totally ignorant humans, thousands of years ago, all originally intending to encourage compassion and morality.

I’m OK with this on one condition:

If Jesus does not come back in the next, say, 3 years, can we move on from all of this Christian nonsense?

Where I disagree with Tom and side with Eddie is on the question of patriotism.

In this episode, Eddie was explicit about his position that he doesn’t feel a love for the country. This is a deep and nuanced issue, but I see and support his position.

I’m certain there is no heaven and that doesn’t change my strong desire to do the right thing.

This is a hugely important point.

I think this dichotomy exists because one party earnestly and pragmatically tries to solve real problems while the other party prioritizes political gain and retaining power over a sincere interest in improving our country.
