I saw thousands protest in Denver today, within eyesight of the Denver Post building, yet there’s nothing about it on their website this evening. Seems fishy to me

Takeaways from exhibiting AI work recently:
- It really brings out some angry commenters on social media (Meta platforms in particular)
- Those with genuine curiosity ask extremely good questions about it
- The media, even when handed a media packet explaining it’s AI, still call them photographs

Breaking News: Elmer Fudd has been confirmed as Secretary of the Fish and Wildlife Service. Rabbits are henceforth banned from dressing like a human woman for the purpose of tricking innocent hunters

This is the way, I never liked marketing myself like some product anyway.

Sometimes I feel a little guilty, blasting by people earning it peddling up a steep hill, and then I remember my age and get over it, ha ha

Recently I purchased an e-bike, it’s a hybrid (meaning you still have to peddle), but that also means the bike is lighter and feels and rides a lot more like a traditional road bike. Suddenly, I am knocking out long bike rides with large hills again like I’m in my 20s 😆

-Read more books and periodicals for current info
-write notes to people I know to thank and congratulate them
-continue political activism IRL, not arguing with hate bots

So that’s why I haven’t posted or talked about art here yet, my webpage link is in my bio if you’re interested in seeing that!

So here I am on Bluesky, trying to figure out a path forward, and this is where I am at:
-removing all link-outs to SM from my website (if you got there why on earth would I help you navigate away?!)
-use my blog for the things I was using IG for
-use SM to be social, not to advertise myself…

I started my IG around 2016 under pressure from my students, and at first I was glad, starting around the pandemic I became less happy about it and found myself ‘doom scrolling’. Then the billionaires took off their masks and revealed their true selves and I can no longer justify staying there…

There is always a first post, here’s mine.

Like many of you I came here looking for an alternative to corporate run social media which has become increasingly toxic and pointless. Fingers crossed this platform will be different and creatives will flock here soon - more to come as I figure this out
