Highly agree. It has me considering not using it anymore. The more sites ask for ID the stronger my consideration… I can always draw without internet and rewatch anime on dvd/bluray.

“Think of the children” is just the best excuse these companies have in order to gather more data. It’s not really about protecting kids. The true purpose is furthering implementation of digital surveillance. Even if it eventually kicks me off the internet entirely I have no plan to ever comply.

Depends on local laws. The place I live atm apparently made an anti-porn law last year that requires ID to view adult content. For some reason that blocks DMs on bluesky, too. It’s the only site I use that changed anything…
