Plum Blossoms in Bloom at Kyoto Gyoen National Garden 🌸

Before the cherry blossoms arrive, plum blossoms take center stage. Kyoto Gyoen National Garden is home to 170 plum trees, some of which are in full bloom — a quiet and beautiful prelude to spring🍃🌸

Early cherry blossoms along the Sumida River doing their best to frame the Tokyo Skytree all the while getting rained on. I think the droplets of water you see throughout the frame are not so much falling from the sky as they are being blown from the blossoms by a gust of wind, but that does not fit so neatly in a caption.
