State denies Drax ability to expand emissions
The Drax wood pellet plant in Gloster lost its effort to release more potentially harmful air pollutants.
Today's the little guy wins. Wood pellet producer Drax got denied for a revised air permit in Mississippi after impassioned local residents shared stories of their suffering from air pollution. I've been to Gloster myself and it smelled like burnt wood.

"However, Lynemouth has not just been burning ‘waste wood’. ... some of the wood obtained in 2023–24 from the USA was longleaf pine – a protected species."
