Do you have a Hyundai Ioniq (2016-21)? I've got roof bars available to give away (collect from Oxford, UK) - perhaps for a small charity donation. YKS6 Yakima flush bars S6, 100cm x2, with YKK1144 smartfoot fitting kits. message me if interested.

Octopus & BYD turbocharge EV revolution with all inclusive car and charging bundle

Agreed, certainly in many countries here in Europe the issue is no longer range - the charging infrastructure is pretty good. 200-300 miles and the ability to charge at 150+ kW should be fine for most people IMO. By the way, this just happened in the UK octopus.energy/press/octopu...

Exactly as I said after the blackout: voltage regulation was issue, not a lack of spinning inertia, as so many quickly speculated (or asserted). It was an off peak spring day, plenty of cheap solar available, and the grid operator cut it too close, failed to commit sufficient voltage regulation.πŸ”ŒπŸ’‘

Spain’s Blackout and the Miracle of the Modern Power Grid Rob and Jesse go deep on the electricity machine.

NEW SHIFT KEY

WHAT SPAIN’S BLACKOUT TELLS US ABOUT THE MODERN POWER GRID

This is a *master class* from my cohost @jessedjenkins.com on how the lights stay on β€” and how operators manage supply, demand, voltage, and frequency to keep the world’s biggest machine humming.

Applications for hydrogen, qualitatively ranked in terms of competitiveness against alternatives.

a) The main applications for hydrogen across all sectors are grouped according to their current and potential future economic advantage against alternatives. Ranking derived from Liebreich's β€˜Hydrogen Ladder’ and Espacito's β€˜Hydrogen Policy’s Narrow Path’ report.

b) c) d) Give the annual sales of hydrogen, alternative and incumbent technologies in three example applications.

We must stop focusing hydrogen research and investment into dead-ends.

This (and getting solar panels, and a general desire to move towards not having any gas at all) is why we ripped out the gas hob and switched to induction. Induction is so, so much better (and easier to clean).
