It is unclear whether the distal half of the appendages had spines. They were about the same length as the body (9.5 mm). Text 2: Appendages 2 (red) had a poorly preserved projection that may be an exopod. Left head appendage 3, anterior view: Similar morphology to the trunk appendages, but with a possible gnathobase and a long, laterally projecting exopod that may be segmented distally. Head shield and trunk, dorsal view: The 11th tergite only possesses 1 pair of short, posteriorly projecting spines. Left trunk appendage 2, ventral and anterior view: This structure is the same in all trunk appendages except for 11, which lacks an exopod. The exopod's structure is unknown, but it may be filamentous. The basis of trunk appendage 1 may have a gnathobase. Head appendage 4 (yellow) is similar to the trunk appendages, but with a short, incompletely preserved exopod.

I’ve made a diagrammatic reconstruction of one of my favorite prehistoric animals, Aquilonifer spinosis.
I’ve noticed many of the reconstructions of this animal appear to be based solely on the fossil model, resulting in some errors that contradict the actual description.
