Breaking: Another CDC purge underway. Multiple members of the Director’s Advisory Committee terminated without explanation. I believe were are breaking some news here in Inside Medicine.

The broad termination of federal advisory committee members will only undermine trust in US government agencies. I am particularly worried this will only fuel the persistence of questions about CDC’s independence.

Today I received notice that my appointment to the Advisory Committee to the Director of the CDC--a committee whose existence is mandated by Congress--has been terminated.

I think US measles cases are being undercounted. But not enough to explain the difference. Canada has a much lower vaccination rate.
