Just beware that Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times of year. I can’t remember when you went last year so if you’re already aware, forgive me for the warning.

There’s so much that is rewarding and that I am grateful for, but there’s also a lot of long hours, physically demanding work, inability to spontaneously travel and the reality that a client and their financial support could be gone any day. Lots on my mind as I plan for the future.

Definitely never. I just tried finding someone to cover the three days. I’m gone next week and it did not go very well. A solid reminder.

🫂 Thank you. I wish hiring employees was a thing I could do, but I’ve tried in the past and not only do I not excel at managing people, it’s A LOT of additional stress and anxiety I don’t ever want on my plate again. (I own a pet care business).

I’m so tired, I broke my thread 😅 Thankfully, I’m taking 3 of those days off next week to go to Disneyworld and escape into my bubble with friends I adore. I plan to forget the state of the world, eat my special snacks and relish the good times with even better people, grateful I have a job at all.

Some days I feel like I’m working in a state of burnout for no reason - the future is unpredictable and frankly, worrisome. Others, I’m exceedingly grateful to have the amount and type of business I do so that I can enjoy my life as best I can while I’m alive, today.

In fact, I’m too tired to write everything I’d like. Only 2 months into this season, I can already sense the burnout and realized earlier tonight that from Sept to May, I operate in a state of gratitude and burnout, because I do love my job, but it’s nonstop. I have 6 days off over 8 months.

Three years into this new chapter of my life and my business has evolved - it now involves a level of senior care, something I’m already doing at home with my parents (73 and 94) - and while I find it fulfilling, it requires even more of me and admittedly, I am tired.

The whole “do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” has never been true for me. I do what I love and I’m grateful to have created a business I’ve run for almost 20 years, but it’s still work. It’s always been demanding of my time, body and especially my empathy and compassion.

This is is laughable. She was the worst part of the film!

We ignore what we don’t like because we don’t want to believe the person we DO like can be that bad, but ignoring and denying the truth will only hurt you in the long run.
