Voted in my first Canadian election today as a new Canadian citizen and got interviewed by the Edmonton Journal. Scroll down to the story posted at 4:20.

My oldest and I waited 1.5 hours but it was my first time as a new Canadian citizen. I even got interviewed by the Edmonton Journal.

All I’m saying is you need a mullet like that. Your mom would love it.

Oh my goodness! A truly great actor who could turn in a great performance in the most serious epic or artiest stage play and the silliest public tv show (Edgar Montrose was a great comic creation). Rest in peace!

I’m Canadian!

The world feels like it’s falling apart but this man and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary two days ago and for that I am grateful.

Good. I’m becoming a Canadian citizen next week and I put in all that work to be Canadian not just Albertan.

I find They Might Be Giants already did that for me.

It was two days by train to Jasper, then another train to Prince George BC, then a bus to Dawson Creek, then another bus to Whitehorse where we rented a car. I think it took about four days but that’s because the train and bus went overnight as well.

My husband and I went to the Yukon for our honeymoon twenty four years ago.

Furthest East I’ve been is Shanghai China, so far East I had to West to get there.

We decided not to go to the US this year and I’m an American citizen. We have a non binary kid, and my husband is an outspoken academic against the current US administration. I miss visiting my family and friends in Michigan but it just wasn’t safe for us.

Just got home after a month away. Drove 8,000km to Eastern Ontario and back.

We spent a few days I. Ottawa. My nerdy, politically aware teenagers loved it.

Saw an off leash dog at our local National Park. One it’s illegal, two it’s so stupid and dangerous for the dog as well. The park has bears, bison, elk, moose, deer, coyotes and a couple of wolves. An off leash dog could be seriously wounded or killed if it came across one of these animals.

June 21st. First day of summer, last day of world peace.

We usually go every year to visit my family. It’s killing me because it’s my parents’ 50th anniversary this year but it’s just not safe for us to go. They agree and are planning to come to Canada but how is it that the US isn’t safe for even its own citizens to visit?
