Mel Robbins talked about this in her book. Basically, it boils down to friendships form with proximity, time spent together, and common place in life. After college, much of that goes away.

Thanks!
08.01.2026 15:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nice! Do you know the plantβs provenance? Iβd love to find some more southern genetics.
08.01.2026 14:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Does salverform also apply here? Or is that different?

A New Yearβs moonlit walk. Iβve always loved this giant Quercus michauxii (swamp chestnut oak) in our front yard in Tennessee.
The moonlight accentuates its striking winter form.
Already blooming here in east Texas!

13.12.2025 00:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Cool thanks for sharing!
17.11.2025 03:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do you start them in stock beds? Or just line them out in rows?
16.11.2025 20:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I hate this plant with a passion.

I agree on the mistflower. C. greggii isnβt that bad and itβs a pollinator magnet.
I canβt stand Prunus caroliniana. They seed under everything.
Thanks! I hate we didnβt cross paths!
14.06.2025 20:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Why is the dust so bad this year? Dry in the west?
15.03.2025 19:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow that cespitose habit is insane!
13.03.2025 02:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I literally looked at your feed about 30 minutes ago to see if the white haze westward was a dust storm.

Yea, they seem delicate to the touch, much like the threads of Hamamelis.
Some years Chimonanthus will get hit by a hard freeze in winter in Texas, but other years it makes it through fairly unscathed.
One of my absolute favorites!!!
06.01.2025 21:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Any thoughts on rain/snow line for the storm that will go through east Texas Thursday/Friday?
06.01.2025 21:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Would Nelumbo be peltate with circular leaves and petiole attachment underneath?
06.01.2025 17:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I find root architecture fascinating. Tells you lots about growth strategies.
06.01.2025 16:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thats hard. Fresh cauliflower is good. Then thereβs collards cooked with bacon grease and brown sugar. Oh, and Brussels sprouts with garlic olive oil or Cajun seasoning.
05.01.2025 23:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What were your issues? Viridis is a weed for us here in Texas.
05.01.2025 03:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thatβs great!
05.01.2025 03:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Flowered after one year?
