I think, at this late juncture, with too many examples to count and more on the horizon, we can finally be justified in concluding that the problem with many in the current regime isn't ignorance, but that of "him therefore that knoweth to do good, but doeth it not".

There is a human tendency not to learn a needed lesson, when we are protected by others from the consequences of our own actions. That doesn't mean we should find joy in the actual suffering of others when those consequences finally occur to them.
