I like this. The biggest barrier to advocacy on any issue is just getting people to think about it in the first place, and naked bigotry is self-defeating in the long run. The more mask-off they go, the more "I don't know much about trans people but their opponents seem insane" you're going to get

As a biologist, I think that the hierarchy of sentience is a bullshit way to determine how we should treat living creatures. Intelligence, consciousness, and sentience are defined as human-centric and does not consider the variety of life and how living creatures interact with our environments.
