Reality check: Promised 67,000 homes a year would send building into freefall The plan is to make new homes $100,000 cheaper. Sadly, the biggest boost to supply will happen when property prices rise again.

We need better planning, not economists’ abstract pontificating, based on simplistic & narrow premises.

Proposal to change building height restrictions in Adelaide CBD Adelaide's skyline will be "sent soaring" by changes to building height rules that will make it easier for developers to add extra storeys to CBD construction projects, the SA government says.

Everything which made Adelaide a great city to live in is being eroded away...

I bet none of the folks interviewed in this article live in an apartment.

ANU crisis: Pressure mounts onΒ Bishop and Bell As an inquiry hears evidence of alleged bullying and mistreatment, sources confirm there is no desire to change senior management atΒ the ANU.

Australian National University Chancellor Julie Bishop and Vice-Chancellor Genevieve Bell are still standing – not because the storms battering Australia’s premier research institution have eased, but because no one in power wants to force a change. satpa.pe/UqvwBvE

β€˜Mind-boggling stupidity’: The consultancy that captured universities Nous Group has slowly taken over the university sector, filling VCs’ offices with ex-staff and buying β€˜incredibly sensitive’ data that is sold back for benchmarking.

I have always been bewildered by how Universities engage with external consultants to do anything. There isn't anyone they could consult within the university? Universities need a proper reform in how they are governed.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

The sector is already broken and has been for a while - let's stop trying to pretend that the government is breaking it now. It happened a long time ago, everyone went with it, got greedy, ignored sustainability, and we're all paying the price for it now.

We turn a blind eye to what they are actually learning in the classroom. They get lost in classes that get larger and larger over time. They struggle to connect with Australian students. Some probably shouldn't even be admitted - but we're happy to take their money anyway and set them up to fail.

The support international students need at an individual level (generally speaking) is actually time intensive, and lecturers are not supported to give students the support that they need - yet, we adopt a sink or swim approach (adjusting to work, study and life in a new country all at once).

I hear cries of 'this is what students deserve and their parents too' in relation to visa and enrolment certainty, and I agree.

Do you know what they also deserve?

A quality international education with staff that are well funded and supported.

It has been hectic in the international education space in Australia - I see and hear the international education sector, peak bodies, stakeholders, migration and education agents stepping up, complaining, and lobbying against the various policies proposed in the last 12 months.
