Even if your game is about figuring out a holistic view of a complicated situation (one of my favorite genres, a la Obra Din!) it still needs some kind of meaningful climax that comes at the chronological end of play. (As opposed to unpredictably happening whenever you Figure It Out.)

Things being too high up is a bad game mechanic, even in platformers. It encourages developers to stick you with bad movement options so they can "unlock" progress. Start me with the fun movement shit, find more interesting locks and keys.
