Police district councillors who gathered petition signatures required to hold tonight's hearing are opening by thanking the community for showing out.

Join us this Veterans Day, shoulder to shoulder with About Face and other allies against the US cycle of endless war, corporate war profiteering, and the militarization and occupation of our communities.

With the escalation of Trumps racist and reactionary agenda on the people, we must fight back!

Today we protested and marched 500 strong to demand ICE OUT OF CHICAGO!

We protested at Daley Plaza, right across from the office of States Attorney Eileen Burke to say STAND UP TO ICE!

Our last two emergency protests have been successful in showing a mass on-the-ground resistance to Trump’s threats of sending federal troops into the city. We can’t stop now. Join us!

The protest march in Chicago - the second in only four days staged in opposition to the Trump admin's targeteting of Chicagoland for an immigration blitz - has stepped off from Congress Plaza and is heading north down Michigan Avenue. Hundreds of people have joined the march so far.

In addition to protections from Immigration enforcement, the Mauser workers are also fighting for a fair rase to keep pace with inflation, consistent hours and breaks on the job, and employer-provided uniforms to protect employees from bringing toxic chemicals home to their families.

Since going on strike, these brave workers have drawn attacks from Fox News and other racist enemies of the working class. We must support them in their struggle!

90% of the workers at the Little Village Mauser processing facility are Chicano or Latino, all of them work a hard job to feed their families, and none of them have crossed the picket line in over 90 days.

This morning, September 8, CATA forces joined the Mauser workers from Teamsters local 705 who have been on strike for three months demanding a fair contract that includes protections from ICE raids in the workplace.

This is an illegal military occupation of our city and communities, and we have an inalienable democratic right to resist it!
